Richard Alfred Shadrach, second son of Elizabeth Kerr and Robert Shadrach was born December 9, 1828 in Westmoreland County, PA. He was married to Mary Ann Ewing, eldest daughter of Elizabeth Yost and Thomas Ewing, August 21, 1851. To this union were born four children, two of whom survive him. He departed this life, May 25, 1911, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 16 days. Should he have lived until August 21, Mr. and Mrs. Shadrach would have been married 60 years. Thus ends a long and active career. kbz
